Take Note: Songs and Poems for Teachers and Parents of Young Children

Take Note offers an exciting new look at basic music activities for the Foundation Phase, extending the child's experience beyond the daily music lesson. It is based on the principle that whatever is taught at school should be of relevance in later life. The material consists of original and traditional songs and poems in English, Afrikaans, Zulu, Xhosa, Tswana, Sesotho and Hebrew. The songs and speech patterns include accompaniments, easy guitar and piano chords, solfa and teaching suggestions. Indigenous subject matter introduces learners to the people, traditions and creatures of our country. The book is for teachers and parents of young learners and is accompanied by an audio cassette which is also available separately.
