Synopsis

Using the guise of a writer from those times, the author travels with Nelson throughout his full career asking him the very questions that today's historians would like to ask him. The 'answers' given are based soley on the words Nelson himself left behind and on those who served with him, fought against him and compiled official ship and naval records of the time. Though new aspects of Nelson's life, at home and at sea, will undoubtedly be featured, the essence of the work is the immediacy the book's style brings to following the Admiral's career and to understanding its ebb and flow. Horation Nelson was not shadowed by reporters from the world's media as military leaders are today bit if he had been this would have been the result; it makes the reader feel as if he is is on the set of a major TV interview or listening to the Admiral at a news conference. This new way of presenting the lives of past heroes is destined to bring a whole appraoch to biographical publishing
