Telecommunication Networks

This revised and updated text discusses the structure and performance of telecommunication networks in the context of the services they provide. The chapters are devoted to public and private networks, ISDN, intelligent networks, mobile radio networks and broadband networks. Further chapters explain the principles of underlying technologies, including transmissions, circuit and packet switching, signalling, stored-program control, network management, investment appraisals and network planning. A final chapter presents some case studies which illustrate the application of these principles.
