Tyneside's Finest ... a Miscellany

Fifty Tyneside writers choose the people, places, inventions, and 'things' that make Tyneside really special to them. The result is a book full of a fantastic variety of information and opinion. From Brown Ale to George Stephenson, from the No. 1 bus to Thomas Bewick, from Grey Street to the Geordie Mam, there are over 100 entries. Introduced by architectural historian and broadcaster John Grundy, authors include Newcastle Journal's Tony Henderson and David Whetstone, biographer Jenny Uglow, academics, enthusiasts and researchers. Generously illustrated with photographs and drawings, mostly gathered from the wonderful local archive of Newcastle Libraries, we also include new work from local photographers.
