Visual Messages: Integrating Imagery into Instruction

This work offers effective stategies, activities and resources to promote critical viewing skills and visual literacy in students at K-12 stage. Considine and Haley focus attention on helping students think critically about the way the media's use of images influences their attitudes and behaviour. The main areas addressed are motion pictures and television, including advertising and sterotyping in the media. Activities are coded by grade level and curriculum area.
