Wild Thing

His leg was broken and his provisions were all on his horse. There was no way he could catch the horse on a broken leg. He was miles from any help, high up in an isolated mountain valley. The only human being within miles was some wild girl he was seeking but she was suspected of two murders. Indeed, she had already tried to kill him twice. With winter coming on, Deputy United States Marshal Carver Dilling weighed his chances. Perhaps the vicious Indian who also sought the girl would find him first. Not a pleasant prospect, but about the best he could expect. At least he'd die fighting.
