Tomorrow’s Warriors alum and award-winning bassist Daniel Casimir teams up with some of London’s finest emerging jazz talent to form a quartet for a very special Tomorrow’s Warriors +1 live session.

Having won the Young Jazz Musician Award ‘with a great mix of communicativeness, simplicity and sass’ and as winner of the Jazz FM Instrumentalist of the Year, multi-award-winning bassist and composer Daniel Casimir has played a crucial role in the UK Jazz scene.

Since finishing the formal aspect of his musical training, Daniel has performed with an array of musicians including Julian Joseph, Jason Rebello, Lonnie Liston Smith, Chihiro Yamanaka, Jean Toussaint, and David Lyttle. Additionally, he has recorded with Nubya Garcia (We Out Here, Nubya’s 5IVE), Binker Golding (abstractions of Reality Past and Incredible Feathers), Camilla George (Isang), Blue Lab Beats, Oscar Jerome and Ashley Henry (Beautiful Vinyl Haunter).

Daniel will be joined by fellow TW alumni Donovan Haffner (alto sax) and Harry Ling (drums).

Donovan Haffner’s musicianship has already seen him play London gigs at Ronnie Scott’s, Notting Hill Arts Club and the Albany as well as appearing at festivals including, We Out Here, Pitchfork, Brainchild and Love Supreme.

Last year saw Donovan’s reputation grow further, performing alongside Kamal Williams at KOKO and being asked by Jay Phelps to take to the stage for the acclaimed trumpeter’s show at the Jazz Café exploring Miles Davis’ Kind of Blue.

Harry Ling, a.k.a. Mackwood, is a London-based drummer and producer behind projects such as Levitation Orchestra, Miller Blue and Nardeydey. His hybrid discipline of improv, beat-making and production has seen him collaborate with Jordan Rakei, Col3trane, Nilufer Yanya, Cassie Kinoshi, Charlie Stacey, and many more.

The Tomorrow’s Warriors talent development programme has helped nurture an astounding list of award-winning alumni including Nubya Garcia, Shabaka Hutchings, Ezra Collective, Moses Boyd, Binker Golding and a whole host more. At the heart of this incredible musical movement is the ethos of ‘each one, teach one’, with each generation sharing their time and supporting the musicians that follow in their footsteps. The creative results are nothing short of inspiring and intoxicating – as witnessed in the new Tomorrow’s Warriors album, I Am Warrior.
