Reviews: Accidental Magic (1)
“Life’s too short for mediocre reads!”
(Paperback)
Welcome to Myrtlewood, a quirky town where magic brews stronger than your morning coffee and secrets are as plentiful as the teacups!
In the first three books, we follow Rosemary Thorn and her teenage daughter, Athena, as they navigate the aftermath of Granny Thorn’s mysterious death. Honestly, you'd think a dilapidated manor would be their biggest problem, but no! Enter family drama, magical mishaps, and a whole lot of awkward moments.
Book 1: Light and whimsical, but I couldn’t help but roll my eyes when Rosemary acted like she was auditioning for the role of "Least Mature Parent of the Year." Seriously, I’m not sure who’s the adult here!
Book 2: Omg, that boy! But really, why does it feel like the father’s past misdeeds get swept under the rug like yesterday’s leftovers?
Book 3: Sadly, this was a major letdown for me, and I had to DNF. After all the great books I’ve read, I just couldn’t muster the enthusiasm for this one. Life’s too short for mediocre reads!
That said, if you’re new to reading or looking for a gentle introduction to the magical genre, this series could be a charming escape. Just remember, it’s all tea and no magic spells!
Overall Score: 5.14/10 – A light, breezy read for those who enjoy a sprinkle of magic with their afternoon tea.
