“Phenomenal”
(Hardback)
by Hikapikabook
My god, this is a devastatingly beautiful piece of work. My heart has been torn to shreds and is all I can think about right now. On par with Feathers so viscous duet, which I would say has worse triggers then Alchemised but is another beautiful masterpiece. *I love raw emotional feelings written on paper and for me makes the reading experience feel more intense and intimate with the writer.
“Dark Fantasy Perfection”
(Hardback)
by Siobhan Kearney
I have no notes. Utterly devastating and equally beautiful. Wouldn’t call this a romance - more a tragedy centring on the toll of war. Incredible debut.
“So much more than a dark fantasy”
(Hardback)
by Lavinia, Waterstones
I went in to Alchemised unsure of what to expect. It’s a big book, separated into three parts and contains many brutal scenes but each serve a purpose in the development of Helena and Kaine’s journey. Their story isn’t just about romance. It is about the horrors one must survive in war, whatever side they’re on. It questions the characters’ loyalties, their beliefs and their relationships. SenLinYu challenges the conventions of being a monster, blurring lines that divide the characters’ morals, pushing them to see how far they will go for the ones they love. While we are given the ultimate villain, there are so many others who balance on the fine line that divides good and evil. The characters are multifaceted, the plotting full of tension and anguish, and the love coloured by the events. So, did I finish with my expectations in check? No- I’m left with a feeling that I underestimated the impact of this book. It is so much more than a dark fantasy. It is a story that deals with the reality of how war can change a person and the beauty that can be created from trauma.
“Loved every bit of it”

Now one of my favourite books of all time.
“Powerful, Profound, and Heart-Wrenching”
(Hardback)
by Stephania Yiannouka
This book was incredible…dark, powerful, and so deeply emotional. What is so important though is how much this book has to say about our world today. It explores the lasting effects of trauma and PTSD, the experiences of immigrants who never quite feel at home even as they try to assimilate to the new culture around them. The dangers of using religion or ideology to justify harm. It also examines how believing so deeply in a single cause can sometimes make us blind to the world around us and to other points of view. It also shows what happens when a system only serves the top 1%, the people clinging to power always want more, it’s never enough, and they stop caring about the very people they’re meant to serve. These themes are so relevant and powerful, and I wish more people were talking about them. There’s a beautifully written romance subplot here as well, but for me the heart of the story is about survival, sacrifice, and the cost of the choices we make. Yes, its roots trace back to Manacled, but Alchemised stands on its own and is richer and more expansive because it’s not tied to the HP universe. This book made me feel so many things…..grief, hope, heartbreak and that’s what makes it unforgettable.
