“Bloody brilliant!”
(Paperback)
It was hard to put this book down, and when I did it was all I could think about! I loved the story, the characters, everything! Bit disappointed by the absence of Mary Catherine but the last 2 pages made up for that!
Can't wait to read the next one!
“A Good Read”
(Paperback)
Someone or a group have blown up a number of subway stations in New York and nobody has claimed responsibility. The somebody takes out the Mayor of New York at a press conference and the city is in a state of panic.
Michael Bennett has just flown back from Ireland where he has had to leave Mary Catherine, and he is seriously jet lagged. He now also has a new Chief of Detectives and a major case on his hands. He also is need of someone being able to watch over his ten children and Seamus who is recovering from a stroke. He spends most of his time missing Mary Catherine and worrying about everyone else.
Bennett has teamed up with the FBI and his Ombudsman squad as they try and search for the leads that will crack the case wide open. They just cannot find who is behind the spate of bombings. He has to lead his team regardless of what is happening around him especially while the City of New York is in a state of panic.
This is an okay thriller and like many American thrillers it has the required happy ending.
“Oh dear........... ”
(Paperback)
It seems that Mr Patterson has been taking the 'exaggeration pills'. This was just too OTT. Implausible plot full of gaps and no reality checks along the way. Seriously, a mass evacuation of New York and no one complained!!?
I only gave it three stars because some of the science is deemed possible - in the perfect circumstances! - and for the glaring lack of Mary Catherine. However, Martin does make up for this. I suspect he will feature in future books, I hope so!
Will I be reading the next book..................
probably!
