Blog Tour Review The writing was light and entertaining. I was engrossed from the first page and looked forward to picking it back up for each reading session. It was what I would describe as a proper romantic comedy. So many books claim to be rom com, but for me the com is often missing. No such thing with this book! There were a lot of mishaps and miscommunications which kept my interest. I felt so sorry for the main character, yet she kept on going. The story was split into 3 parts, which were dated and then split into chapters. It gave you a good idea of timescale. The chapters in each part were short, which kept the story moving. I liked the fact that time moved on fairly quickly and that we didn't linger too long on anything. This all meant that my interest never wavered. The chapters flowed together well, and we went from one mishap to the other, which kept me on my toes. There were some heavier moments which added to the story and gave it more grounding. The characters were excellent. I enjoyed being on Em's journey. Despite the obstacles, she kept focused on what she wanted. I loved the friendships that Em had and enjoyed reading the texts between her and her best friend. It gave the story a contemporary feel to it. I also loved the relationship between Em and her boss Nancy. It was nice to see the support that they gave one another. Lastly the settings. I enjoyed being in North Devon by the Coast. Whilst it was a character focused story, the little bits of scenery that were described were good. Overall an enjoyable light read.
