This beautifully illustrated book was an absolute joy to read! It took me back to the time when my two boys were very young and we spent a lot of the time heading to the beach to explore, have fun, and of course swim. The pictures show how much there is to look at, listen to, and explore. Trying to identify the birds, the wildlife, the plants that grow in that particular place, as well as the lovely places to eat and take in the whole surroundings. Also teaching them about how waste, litter, and leaving things behind impact on wildlife and the environment. My favorite part of the story was when one of the characters started to dream and make up his own little place of escapism. This is true of myself when I get to the beach as I often become mesmerized by the tide movement helping me relax and chill out. The story is one of adventure, exploration, and what a fun time can be had with a wide open space that is surrounded by amazing animals, plants, and of course the beach and sea which both hide a lot of secrets beneath their surfaces. A book that can inspire parents, guardians, and children to go to the beach and coast to have their own adventures and explorations.
