What a truly amazing woman. Michelle Obama shares her life, her culture, opens the US up to everybody. I reached for the highlighter pen so many times. Her observations on being a woman, on race, on never giving up, on speaking out all resonate so clearly now, and will do in the future. Timeless.

how to become the first lady president

I loved this book. She is so down to earth and genuine sounding. Clever lady. Clever couple. Well worth a read, really interesting and a great insight into the famous couple’s lives, American politics and life in The White House.

This is a very personal story of how Mrs Obama was brought up, how she achieved high academic qualification and stared a career in law that would in itself have shown how she overcame all the barriers against such an achievement. Through this her social commitment grew and then she met this 'weirdly named' bloke and you learn the nature of both of them. There follows the story of how she supported the President's goals and ambitions and what drives them both. I thoroughly enjoyed the whole book including how they handed over to a man who was qualified neither personally or morally to follow them!

Absolutely phenomenal read. Since reading it got two more copies.
