We have been following Katie and her range of books for a long time now, with Otto being a family favourite. 'Beyond' is such a special story and for some, so perfectly relatable. The story writing is lovely, as usual, and the illustrations are out of this world. I found myself staring at the pictures for much longer than I should, just admiring every detail. The story has bought a tear to my eye every time we've read it, yet it is so beautiful and hopeful. This is one that belongs on everyone's book shelf, it deserves is 5 stars and beyond ✨️

I bought this book for a dear friend who sadly had a stillborn birth at full term. When it arrived, I was blown away—not just by the beautiful illustrations, but also by the thoughtful words inside. As I read, I felt a mix of emotions. I cried for my friend, but I also felt a sense of joy. Katie has a special gift for bringing out both feelings at the same time, which is really something. It touched me so much that I’m planning to buy a second copy for myself. Beyond belongs in any book collection and I will be looking forward to sharing with my fellow mum friends. Well done Katie!

Everything about this book is stunning. The story is so carefully written, gently taking the reader through feelings of grief and loss with beautiful metaphors and mesmerizing artwork. This book belongs in the hands of anyone who has experienced an intense loss and will certainly help parents and families navigate the most difficult of times.

This book is so beautifully written and illustrated. The story follows Pen, a penguins who's egg doesn't hatch and whilst the story is about a mothers loss, it delicately tells the journey of love, grief and hope. So whilst it is written to support people (and families) through child loss, the deeper meaning within is comforting for all readers. This would be a perfect book to send parents in need, to know you are there for them.
