Reviews: Carbs & Cals (4)
“awesome book”
(Paperback)
I love this book....before it was a struggle to count carbs....now its simple....thanks chris!!!! awesome book *****
“Great aid to diet for people with diabetes”
(Paperback)
This is a really useful visual aid to counting calories - recommended by my Diabetic Nurse and worth every penny.
“Short on food types”
(Paperback)
Although I loved the concept and certainly found this book to be excellently useful on the foods it covers, it included a rather strange mix of foods and missed some staples. I could see that some foods are fairly easy to measure oneself and so they may have been skipped for this reason, but then there were an apparently random choice of foods covered in the 'Take away' section which I found quite puzzling.
Overall I'd say this book is useful at times - but not that often.
“Useful - but....”
(Paperback)
This is a very useful book, clearly laid out and easy to use - as far as it goes. But it seems aimed at people who eat out or buy takeaways, rather than 'cook-your-own', which anyone watching what they consume - especially for health reasons - would be more likely to do.
There's very little on raw ingredients, such as various cuts of meat or mince, swede, raw pototo, flour, ground almond, etc., etc.
If anyone knows of a book like that, I'd love to know - I need one!
But as I said, a good book as far as it goes.
