Central Reservation has all the feel of the type of book that I have often read in Booker nomination lists. The story is told from the mind of the central character, Holly, and takes you through all the thought processes of a teenager coping with bereavement and the aftermath. Highly perceptive and full of description of her life in a somewhat dysfunctional family. It cannot be clear until the very end as to how the story will finish. An excellent read and highly recommended.
