The way the book is written sucks you into the world of lexi (the main character) and keeps you on your toes guessing - what next ? I couldn’t put this book down, I highly recommend . Everyone should read this book at least once

I have re-read this book and it gets me everytime. I just love it, its such an easy read, you wont be able to put it down. I actually cant say in words how much i do love it and cant describe how it makes me feel. MUST READ

A fantastic story about a teen's journey to recovery that will have you routing for her before you know it! Lexi is a character that I think all readers can empathise with, even if we're not an addict, as she is believable and understands her own flaws. There is a strong message about accepting who you are and loving yourself that runs through the book that sticks with you long after you finish reading the last page.

Every few years I feel like YA gets a refresh, and whatever trend is big at the time gets pushed aside for a slew of punchy, impactful, naturalistic novels. This is one of those. It was an incredible read, drawing you in from the first page into the mess of Lexi's life. Money can buy you a lot of things, but what it's taken from Lexi is any concept of limitations. After a near-OD, she's shipped off to an exclusive rehab for rich kids, and begins the process of getting clean. Her resentment of the process, her inability to even understand her problem, felt really profound to me. This isn't a narrative where the characters cry it out a little, then magically get better. This is REAL. It hits home a few times, and I found myself very moved by the snaphots we got of the characters lives. I say real, and I mean it; there's some really great humour in amongst all the addiction issues. The characters are diverse and interesting, and I'm pretty sure it took me less than two days to read this. I really couldn't put it down, and I'm excited by Juno Dawson's new direction.

Trigger warnings: drug overdose, scenes of drug taking, recovery, relapse, suicide and eating disorders. I wasn't sure what to expect when I received this book but it definitely doesn't hold back the punches. It deals in a real way with a variety of addictions. There are also a diverse range of characters. Meet Lexi Volkov. In a word she is Spoilt. Lexi is an heiress who 'doesn't have a drug problem'! She overdoses and is dropped off at rehab by her worried brother. I really enjoyed reading this book. It was gritty and real and not sugar-coated at all. You automatically take to Lexi and feel for her situation. The same with some of the other characters. Some of them I disliked straight away. I think it also highlights that addiction is something that is always there and even if you are 'better', it is just for now. There isn't a cure. It will always be with you. Lurking just under the surface.
