“Superb Textile Art Resource!”
(Paperback)
I have bought almost every one of the books written by these 2 very talented ladies. They're beautifully composed. The introduction gives a general feel for what each book is about, then one or other of the joint authors will go on to describe and exemplify, with many photos and sketches, how they have developed and embellished the basic ideas collected on their many their travels, and using a massive variety of materials, both textile and other useful items, many of which cost next-to-nothing. They show how one can be inventive and creative but also eco-aware, using up found objects and recycled household waste materials such as waste paper and sweet wrappers, parcel packaging and so on, as well as the usual paints, pencils, etc., so there are options to suit everyone. Their work is totally inspirational, and though each book is fairly short, each one contains a multitude of suggestions and further explorations which the reader can take as a starting point. I can't recommend them highly enough, and just wish there were more in the pipeline! Very well done, ladies!
