Fiquei bastante surpreendida por este livro de poemas da Gisela Pereira, primeiro pelas ilustrações que são realmente bonitas, uma obra de arte mesmo, pois são ilustrações que parecem fazer parte dos poemas em si. Os poemas são interessantes e cativantes, como Portuguesa, esta obra tem alguns poemas que me tocam mais profundamente como o “Chiado”, um dos bairros mais emblemáticos e tradicionais de Lisboa. Todos os poemas dela acabam por ter algo de muito real e apaixonante, o poema “Lótus” é um dos meus favoritos, a Gisela tem o dom de “brincar” com as palavras, é uma artesã das palavras, +ara além disso apresenta-se com uma imaginação fora de série, conseguindo aliar a magia das palavras com uma narrativa que prende o leitor. Mais uma vez aponto para a qualidade das pinturas, que acabam por ser um complemento extraordinário à leitura dos poemas. Definitivamente aconselho a sua leitura, para quem gosta de poesia e até para quem não aprecia tanto este género, podem pelo menos ler um ou dois poemas e provavelmente vão querer ler mais.

If you want literature that will stir your soul then this collection is for you. It is different. It is not the poems you grew up reading or the poems you have to tear apart for your English class. The dance is a metaphor and if you take time to read between the lines you will discover that this book is more than just about dancing.

I fell in love with poetry when I was in college and since I read all the classics like Robert Frost, Carlos William Carlos and Shakespeare, I haven't found a collection of books that could entice me in the same way as those poets. Now that I have read Dancing-you I have a new appreciation for translated poetry. This is a beautiful collection which narrates a unique story. I am so glad that I choose this as my first poetry book of the year, it has been on my to be read list since it came out. I would recommend reading it at your own pace. I read about 3 to 4 poems per night in order to allow them to sit in for a while. I totally recommend this one for all the poetry, and not, readers out there.
