Reviews: Dangerous! (1)
“great for children and theme work on textures”
(Hardback)
by Sarah Broadhurst
Mole loved to label things, but how could he label something that he didn’t know what it was? How many words could he use to label a crocodile? This is a great book for young children who are learning the names of things that can be found in gardens, parks or woods as Mole has labelled many such things. However this book gets even better when he finds something he does not recognise and Mole has many labels to add to this lumpy, bumpy, gargantuan strange thing! The story is well written and is perfect for children aged 5+. The number of words used to describe the crocodile is great and would make a fantastic project for reception or key stage one children. The illustrations throughout the story are good. All simply drawn, the animals (Mole and Crocodile) are friendly, have a cartoony style but look like recognisable animals. They tell the story well and have lots of little detail which children can spot and name throughout the story. I received this book from the publishers, Little Tiger Press, in return for an honest review.
