Reviews: Dead Romantic (2)
“Hilarious”
(Paperback)
I actually listened to the audio version of this, which made me look like an idiot quite often on the train when I guffawed loudly. In a nutshell this is comedy Frankenstein. Camille and Zoe go around collecting dead body parts to make one whole SDB (Sexy Dead Boy)...this lends itself to all sorts of death related humour. The scene where they try and choose feet in the morgue is utter comedy gold. There are so many laugh out loud incidents, I wouldn't advise reading on public transport.
There's more to this story than the dry humour and lost limb mishaps though. It's a great portrayal of friendship and of falling in love. I loved it!
“An easy, entertaining but recognizable read.”
(Paperback)
From reading the first couple of chapters, I thought I was in for a predictable but entertaining read, but I was so wrong on the first part. Instead, the book is peppered with recognizable teen angst and worry, peppering a gripping, humorous and down right good read! A job well done!
