Depth is mostly a traditional noir detective story with numerous twists and turns and characters living in the grey areas of the law, but it sets itself apart in two main areas. First is the setting. Rosen has created a vividly imagined near-future New York that has been drowned by rising sea levels but New Yorkers still survive in boats and the tops of the tallest buildings. Secondly is the characters. They feel solid, refreshingly modern and likeable. I'd love to read future stories involving them. If you're looking for a light and enjoyable quick read give this a try.

This is an extremely gripping read mixing noir, sci-fi and dystopian themes with the greatest of ease. Set in post-climate-change New York City, the book follows PI Simone Pierce on a case which seamlessly interlinks characters and previous cases, twisting and turning. A truly fantastic read that I would recommend to anyone who has enjoyed crime thrillers or detective novels.

A compelling detective story set in the ruins of New York. The city has flooded over many years and now all that remains is the top of skyscrapers held together by a series of boats and bridges. Our PI must solve a series of mysteries whilst also taking a paid gig to show a tourist around the oldest buildings in town - he's looking for truth to the legend of airtight tunnels underground. Is there any truth to the rumour? Is this connected to the disappearance of Simone's last client? Is Simone getting mixed up in something she can't handle? An enjoyable mystery story which is not the usual.
