Dissolution by C J Sansom is the literary equivalent to heroine. I am thoroughly addicted to this wonderful series of books that are compulsive reading. They are intriguing, evocative, thrilling - just a darn good read. Be warned however - you will need to read ALL the other books!

If you enjoy a good historical mystery, then you'll love this one. CJ Sansom manages to capture the dark mood of the period perfectly, interweaving sinister intrigue in high places with the more mundane and difficult lives of the ordinary people. The accuracy of the historian is made even more interesting by the development of the individual characters and the relationship between town and church. I started reading this book quite by chance but I was hooked within minutes and couldn't wait to get the next in the series.

I don't tend to read books of this genre, but this book has made me want to read more! I have been absolutely addicted to this book and could not literally put it down! Highly recommended.

Fantastic read. Great whodunnit. Two flaws to my mind,, minor onesA Catholic priest would never casually discuss what someone told him in confession. Secondly, surely it would occur to this educated hero that the behaviour of the King and his henchman Cromwell was nothing but psychopathic?Allowing for these flaws, a super read.

It has been a long time since I have been so interested in reading to the point were i could not put down the book. This has continued from Dissolution through to Dark Fire and i have no doubt it will be the same with Sovereign and Revelation. Both of which i am looking forward to reading. If you read one of these books you will find yourself having to read them all.
