An excellent, comprehensive introduction to the study of English Literature. As well as introducing the basic concepts behind the study of this subject it also includes topical issues within the subject: the viability of the Shakespeare 'Institution' and the 'Death of the Author' debate, for example. Certainly of use to upper sixth students and prospective undergraduates; personally I have found it to be invaluable for my university applications.
