This highly readable action-filled novel , set in an aerial conflict on the planet of Enothis is definitely one to get. The author follows a series of pilots with different backgrounds and experience, most of whom are in a unit called the Phantine XX. Probably the most interesting character is Oskar Viltry, the marauder pilot, but there are plenty of other interesting characters - including the priest Kautas. Perhaps the author could have developed the back-stories of a few more of them. There is a useful map at the front, and the author does a good job of bringing the locations to life with good description that helps you to imagine them.
