Reviews: Eight Ghosts (1)
“Beautiful and haunting stories”
(Paperback)
by Jemma Hole
Poignant and incredibly well-written by each author, I cannot praise this collection of short stories enough! Each story just got better and better - I found myself saying “this one’s my favourite” after every story! I love the mystery and how the endings are effectively left open to interpretation, and although they were short and I definitely found myself wishing they were longer, they wouldn’t have had the same impact. It was the shortness of the stories that made them all the more mysterious, spooky and intriguing! I also love that at the back of the book there’s a glossary of all of the English Heritage sites used as inspiration for these stories. I’m a massive fan of visiting old houses, castles, etc. so that’s a good selection added to my visiting wishlist! If you like stories about ghosts, the supernatural, or unexplained goings-on, this book is a must!
