I read this book in 2 days, finding it hard to put down. The short, 'pacey' chapters kept me hooked and anxious to know what was coming next. The international and, for me, local dimensions, added interest and intrigue. At first I was confused by the number of different characters and multiple locations but the threads were neatly brought together as the story progressed. Most surprising and pleasing was the very unexpected ending which raised the plot to an entirely new level. I am sure most readers will be left with a sense of wanting more. An excellent first novel.

Fast moving and pacey. An excellent Good V Evil story with a twist! This was a hard book to put down. Its strong female characters were more than a match for their male counterparts and both men and women can relate to and enjoy this novel. Buy it, Enjoy it! Cant wait for the sequel :-) or the movie for that matter

Story build up engrossing with totally engaging character descriptions. An intricate plot line makes the book more difficult to put down. Explosive ending which leaves you wanting more. Thankfully there is a sequel – Amulet – another great read.

From page one this book has you hooked,it took over my life for a few days,it really is hard to put down,an absolute Rollercoaster of a read from start to finish,with some characters making you hold your breath in anticipation of what they are going to do next.Fantastic debut novel,looking forward to more from this author,

Excellent read from a debut author. Heard on the social networks that this was a remarkable read, absolutely right! So fast I will have to read it again. So many layers. Made me laugh, cry, squirm and wonder. Left me wanting more.. Just bought the sequel and it continues where 88 left off..brilliant
