This is a beautiful and skilfully-written story that deals with a topic that many children and families will be able to relate to. It is sensitive and reassuring, offers hope, and is a perfect springboard for discussing this difficult topic.

This is a reassuring book that shows children that life after parental separation can be happy and secure, and that whatever else happens, mummy and daddy will always love them. The book doesn't shy away from difficult feelings, such as the whirling emotions felt by some children when coping with divorce or separation. We see the child in the story fluctuating between feeling joyful and anxious, as the seasons change and the new way of separate living is experienced. But this is ultimately a hugely hopeful book, and will no doubt bring comfort to children, whilst helping them to accept— and thrive in— their changed circumstances.

This is such a gorgeous, gentle, but powerful book to help children with change. It focuses on going through parents' separation, but actually is a wonderful message for any type of change that can be hard. The comparison with the seasons is perfectly done, and the art is soft and comforting. A beautiful, helpful book.
