This book is the last, and the best, in Scot Westerfeld's Uglies series. It stands mostly on it's own with some recurring characters from the original trilogy, however they are provided with enough back story that it isn't a requisite you read the others first. (Although it helps.) This dystopian fiction focuses on societies fascination with celebrities and fame, it's a compelling and diverse book written superbly. The characters are interesting and it is not without adventure. I would definitely recommend this to other readers, especially those looking for a intriguing and unique YA read.
