I was very happy to have my wish granted from NetGalley as I was curious about this book after reading an interview with the author in The Guardian. The story felt very cinematic and the various character dilemmas were captivating. I became very quickly wrapped up in the unfolding tension and blitzed it in a few hours. It had an authentic voice running through the drama due to Newman’s background and this made it even more gripping. I was pleased that this didn’t stray into the stereotypical hijacker story with a one dimensional foreign person as the villain, as I find them quite frustrating and insulting. 5 stars FALLING by T.J. Newman A new take on revenge and using an airplane to accomplish your foul deeds. Original story, highly recommend, reading while on the ground. You or them? It's an easy question, right? Not so easy of a question, if it's referring to your beloved wife and two young children versus the airplane full of innocent passengers, that you are flying along with you, the pilot. OMG. This was so good, I want to read it again and again. It is such a change from the usual thrillers as this one is set in the air in an airplane. All these passengers aboard don't even realize what has happened, the pilot's family has been kidnapped, but the only way his family will stay alive is for all the passengers to die, what a predicament he has. They want him to crash the plane but what does he decide to do? I really felt how tense the pilot was and how scared he was, I couldn't believe what happened in the end. If you are after a nonstop thrilling ride then this is the book for you. I loved it. Wow.

This book is a non stop thrill ride from start to finish and a big thank you to the publishers for sending me a advanced copy. When pilot Bill Hoffman agrees to a bit of overtime he cannot imagine the terrifying turn of events that are about to engulf by him and his family. For just as Bills plane takes off he receives a message that his wife Carrie and their two children have been taken hostage by terrorists and unless he agrees to crash his plane in a highly populated area they will all be killed. This is T.J Newman's debut novel and it is one of the best thrillers I've read in a long time. A powerful masterpiece of tension and suspense that doesn't stop to the very end and will have the reader right on the edge of their seat. Falling is like Die Hard at 35,000 feet and in my opinion could well be the thriller of the year. Strong characters, a powerful plot that will keep you guessing right to the very end and with a heart breaking moral dilemma thrown in, I can't praise this book enough. Loved it!!!

What a great debut book. This had me on the edge of my seat. The twists and turns of the book kept me intrigued. The detail the author goes into makes you feel like you are on the plane itself! Would highly recommend this book.
