“Couldn't put it down!”
(Paperback)
by Alexis Porter
I give this book 5 stars! I was lucky enough to get a copy at a recent book signing at the Corn Exchange Festival of Words for my daughter. She absolutily loved it, so I read it too. I have to say, It's just brilliant and I couldn't put it down. From the first page It was just so much fun and I enjoyed every moment of reading this book. I highly recommend it, the characters are great and it deserves to be a big hit. Enjoy the magical adventure!
“A Wonder-Filled Escape for Kids — and Millennials Too”
(Paperback)
by Lucy Smith
Felicity Fire and the Forever Key is one of those rare books that whisks you straight back to the magical innocence of the 1980s — the era of The Labyrinth, The NeverEnding Story, and Flight of the Navigator. Reading it felt like being handed a VHS tape, a bowl of sugary cereal, and a reminder that the world used to feel wonderfully weird and full of possibility. The story follows Felicity, a sharp-witted kid with a knack for being in “the wrong place at the wrong time” — or maybe exactly the right place after all. One moment she’s hiding from bullies in a dusty old antique shop, and the next she’s tumbling through a mysterious door into a land shimmering with impossible magic. (Honestly? Relatable. If I’d found a Forever Key as a kid, I would’ve absolutely bailed on reality too.)The world she lands in is packed with danger, mischief, and heart — and she’s soon joined by unforgettable companions like Fagen, who is the kind of character you root for immediately. Together they embark on a quest that’s full of adventure, twists, turns, and the sort of pure fantasy that makes you forget everything else going on outside the pages. It’s the perfect children’s book — exciting, warm, imaginative — but it’s also perfect for millennials who want to relive their youth or temporarily escape adult responsibilities (a highly underrated hobby). My only complaint? The second book isn’t out yet, and I need to know what happens next. Immediately. Please. Someone send help.
