This book is amazing. I loved all the characters (good and bad) - they were all so beautifully written. The plot was so cleverly thought out and kept me guessing right to the end. Adele always delivers to the highest standard and this book is on par with the best of her books. I just loved it. I strongly recommend this book, you will not be disappointed.

I always really enjoy Adele Parks' novels as she has a gift for writing books that are easy to read pageturners, something which I imagine is actually very difficult to achieve. I was quite disappointed in this one though as the twist seemed to be very obvious in a story that has been told many times in slightly different guises. However, I shouldn't have doubted Ms Parks as there were obviously more twists coming until a satisfactory conclusion was reached! Thank you to netgalley and HQ for an advance copy of this book.

I was so excited to read this book, and it did not disappoint! “First Wife’s Shadow” is a gripping, fast-paced read that kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish. The story revolves around Emma, a total boss who has her life together and doesn’t need or want a man. But, of course, in walks Matthew—charming, younger, and full of charisma, but with a bit of a questionable past. He doesn’t have the best job, and oh, his wife is dead. Things move fast between Matthew and Emma, and soon she’s falling hard for him, but there’s a catch: Emma can’t stop obsessing over his deceased wife. As jealousy creeps in, strange things start happening—her belongings vanish, plants are mysteriously broken… but it’s not Matthew, and it’s not some random thief. I won’t give too much away, but there’s a huge plot twist you won’t see coming! It’s a great book that I highly recommend, especially if you love a mix of romance, mystery, and a bit of psychological suspense. That said, I found myself feeling a bit sorry for Matthew by the end, which might be an unpopular opinion… but hey, that’s what makes it fun to discuss! ☹️ Overall, a must-read for anyone who loves a story with twists and turns!
“Twisty Plot”
(Hardback)

Another incredibly twisty plot from Adele Parks so that just when you think you have it all sorted there is another big reveal! Very careful plotting and very careful writing make this a delightfully easy read. Emma is a wealthy entrepreneur. She believes she is happy being single and has achieved everything she wants in life until she meets photographer Matthew at a conference and is bowled over. But Matthew is a widower and strange things begin to happen in Emma's life that make her believe that his first wife, Becky is haunting her. I found the plot rather far fetched but that didn't spoil my enjoyment of the twists in the story. The characters are all despicable and fairly unlikeable. An excellent read though!
