I was asked to review this book by Waterstones. Having not read any other books by this author I was excited to read a small book, and I could then go on to choose other books by this author if I so chose. Robert Musil likes to give a scene in detail, this is fine, if you like this kind of writing, the book contains nine short storys and essays, which are about various topics including holiday makers, stone monuments, war and blackbirds as well as the first disturbing story - Flypaper, which incidentally is also the title of the book. I was not keen on the author's style and will certainly not be choosing to read further books by this author, I was disappointed by this book.
