I love this book, I have other foraging books and don’t need a detailed how to forage, I don’t need a generic detailed information about each plant. There are attractive photos and explanations of how to identify the plants and safety information is given. What I want is a supplemental book with the author’s personal experiences with the plants. The book created with the idea of it being a quest and this quest is split into 9 different parts with 9 different plants grouped in each. So for example the first chapter is the 9 plants spell with nine plants being explored that you can forage. The first being Mugwort, there is information, a photo, a drawing, personal stories about the authors experiences, how to identify, safety and a recipe. This is repeated throughout the book and is like having a conversation with someone. I’d recommend this book for anyone who is interested in foraging and craft work. I think it would make a beautiful gift. Whilst reading the book I found references to a shop that was based in the city I was staying in and when I looked up the author she takes people foraging in a town not far from me. A lovely book that is easy to follow and understand. I grow a few herbs and now have quite a few ideas on how best to identify and use them. I will definitely buy the hardback edition for my own use. I love the cover and the illustrations are beautiful. Such a lovely book to own. Thank you to Netgalley and the author for the opportunity to read this book.
