Reviews: Ghost Trees (1)
“A delightful book”
(Hardback)
This book is full of interesting facts - both historical and topical - about plants and trees in every nook and cranny of Poplar. It shows the link between what we see today and how it has been shaped by its history, and is still being shaped by what is happening now. Bob Gilbert has obviously enjoyed his walks and his research, both of which he has done a great deal. Most of his findings - both of plants he finds o his walks and the historical development of Poplar - come as a surprise. The book is beautifully written and has many touches of humour. really good read.
