“it's a wonderful guide to help reduce your footprint”

Gentle, indeed. There is no judgment here, no preaching, just kindness, and easy to adopt suggestions for making personal changes. We and our planet can only benefit from making these changes - Bonnie Wright shows with compassion and ease how to implement these. I enjoyed this one a lot and plan on buying a physical copy for our bookshelf. Recommended. eARC kindly provided by Mariner Books, William Morrow and NetGalley. Opinions shared are my own.

Such amazing tips already tried some of the exercises and can’t wait to try making some of the household products a real eye opener about things going on with the environment around us. Bonnie is such an inspiration!
“A Hope-filled Joy”
(Hardback)
by Courtney Bateman
I *love* Bonnie Wright (how did all the Harry Potter girls turn out just so very cool?) and she does a brilliant job at this book. She shares her insights on climate change and her deep enthusiasm for the things we can do to combat it, but also is very honest about the gaps in her knowledge and uses her platform to amplify others. She is very aware and acknowledges her privilege and does her part to center the POC voices, Indigenous voices, and the voices of experts on different subjects she brings up. But she has so much knowledge to give herself! I love her theme “go gently” - go to show taking action, a verb, doing something; but gently because we need to have grace with ourselves and others as we learn and grow and evolve in our methods of being friendly to each other and the earth. Her book was really hopeful and hope-filled. She doesn’t just say we all need to be doing better. She gives actionable, tangible steps and ideas for things we can do now, how we can help today. We can start small and we can build our capacity for doing good. It’s really accessible - she doesn’t assume knowledge on the part of the reader and takes care to explain things in an appropriate, but not belittling sort of way. It’s outlined so readers can choose what part of their lives to start with, to make recommended changes or swaps, and so they don’t try to overhaul everything all at once and feel overwhelmed. It’s written so it can speak to anyone, that anyone could read it and have ideas for where they wanted to start. It has recipes, journal prompts, recommended documentaries to watch and books to read, activists and orgs to follow, and so much more. Blown away by how well done this was. I already know this book will keep inspiring me for a long time coming. Thanks Bonnie xx
