I spent many years at Lyneham in the 60s and 70s and my work largely involved the veritable Hercules. Some interesting tales in the, largely well written book, many of which I knew some detail but not all. I really enjoyed the book but, like many service writers, too much information about the authors personal life. I, and maybe many others, wanted tales about the aircraft and although some personal detail is unavoidable it tends to detract from the subject. Am I glad I purchased the book? Yes and, not withstanding the points above, I would certainly recommend it.
