I think Simon Wilde is one of the UK's (and the world's) best sports journalists. Read this book and you can see why. Balanced, insightful and incisive; it really captures the magical paradox of Ian Botham. A man of so many faults - yet somehow even greater not despite them but almost because of them. To be utterly candid - Botham was and remains one of my life heroes. But that makes me a hasher critic of books and articles written about him - not a more forgiving one. A terrific book.
