Roxie has to survive a world very different to the one she is used to, and soon she is joined by Grant Hoffman, an awkward academic, and other characters to help her get to the end of Anna’s novel alive. I really enjoyed this book. Its tongue in cheek humour and fast pace worthy of a page-turning thriller, makes it a unique and fun read. I liked Roxie’s character, a hopeless romantic with a cynical exterior, and her relationships with her side kick. I liked the smattering of jokes throughout, which adds to its cosy crime feel. We’ve had romantasy and cosy crime, why not romance cosy crime?

Roxie makes a wish in glitter to have her own big book romance only that might not be what she gets. She wants romance like her favourite author and when she meets Jack it looks set to happen but Jack has other plans and she realises this is no romance but a crime thriller. How will she get herself through this? This was such an interesting and different concept. I liked how it all developed and came together at the end. I love romance and crime thrillers so this was lots of fun for me. The plot is clever and twisty. i did have an idea who might be behind it though. The ending was just how I hoped it would end. I loved the twists along the way especially at the end. Roxie is an awesome lead, I love how she just jumped into her role. Lesly was wonderful too. A brilliant read.

I wasn't sure if I would like this book, but it surprised me. Roxie does temp work to fun her travels and thrill seeking. She takes a lot of self defence classes. She loves reading romcom books and is waiting for her favourite author to bring out a new book. When she wishes she could be the new protagonist in the books, she is surprised to hear a voice telling her that the with will come true. The voice belongs to a street artist. When she is next in the library she meets a guy called Jack who asks for her number, surprising herself she goes on the date, but with surprising results that change her life. A romp that takes her from Boston to London to the Cotswolds and back, she has to live her on wits to put an end to it all. Great fun.
