Indignation is the first Philip Roth novel I've read and I now know what all the fuss is about. His writing is excellent: angry, intelligent and witty without being overly showy. Indignation is a marvellous tale of the confusion, frustration, hope and despair of becoming an adult. It reminded me somewhat of The Catcher In The Rye.
