Reviews: It Can't Happen Here (2)
“Unnerving”
(Paperback)
by Sam Draper
If this was to have been written today the consensus would be that it is a thinly veiled satire of current world politics. It was, however, published in 1935 and the prescience of the novel is unnerving. The biting satire is simultaneously amusing and frightening. After reading one doesn’t know whether to laugh, cry or shudder with fear. A must read.
“Too Real”
(Paperback)
by Joanne at Newcastle Emerson Chambers
I wanted to read this book because of the current political climate and my god did it feel close to home. This is an incredible book at the best of times, mix it with the current state of events, and this book feels like a predication from Nostradamus. The plot is engaging and utterly terrifying, if you love dystopian, that make you feel incredibly uncomfortable, you will love this book.
