Reviews: It (41)
“Epic.”
(Paperback)
The Shining maybe King's masterpiece but this is his most epic novel. It spans many years and includes many different characters in the strange town of Derry, where things are not all as they seem. There is a very evil presence that is out to get the children of Derry and it is only the children who can stop it. The evil presence mostly appears as a clown called Pennywise who is truly one of King's greatest and scariest creations. The novel follows a close group of friends as they battle him as children and then again as adults. It is a coming of age novel as well as a horror story. This is a serious read which requires a lot of focus due to the length and amount of different characters but it is well worth the effort. One of my favourite King novels and I would always recommend it.
“Excellent”
(Paperback)
This is an excellent book. It has exciting parts in the book and the derry interludes add to the story more.
“Brilliantly scary.”
(Paperback)
Its one thing for a film to scare you but to actually have nightmares and be scared of drains/under the bed at my age is just silly!
But you get so sucked into this story and the characters, the whole town has been haunted by this thing for years and years and one group of friends manage to get rid of it for a few years, then try to do it again for good.
It was a very good read, really enjoyed it.
“A long...long read but totally worth it!”
(Paperback)
By far my favourite book. This riveting horror will not stop you from finding out whats coming next, an absolute page turner.
Many ominous and frightening moments, IT doesnt disappoint. As well as tense horror elements, the character development and history of Derry adds more depth to the story and makes this small town look huge in mystery and chaos.
