Reviews: Kill the Puckers (3)
“Funny, thrilling and satisfying revenge-murder tale meets dark romance”
(Paperback)
by Joanna Gaffney
Kill The Puckers is a perfectly blended revenge thriller meets dark sports romance - absolutely the kind of book I binge in one sitting - I have been looking forward to it since its announcement, and it did not disappoint. It is the perfect balance of "good for her" revenge lead murder spree and hot, well paced romance. Sam Evans has become an instant buy author for me. The way she writes complex, chaotic, yet realistic characters is flawless. The writing is natural and relatable, the humour, the complexities of the settings and characters within are all just so grounded and believable, and avoids all the usual clichés. It should also be acknowledged that the book is powerful beyond the initial thrill, being inspired by the reality of sexual assault cases within the Hockey scene. Specifically bringing to light the way high-profile perpetrators escape accountability and victims being left unheard, unsupported and without justice. It was very realistic and sensitive in the way the issues was handled. And the revenge element, while fictional, was satisfying in response. An intense, chaotic yet methodical, addictive book for sure. Genuinely going to be rereading as soon as my physical copy arrives on release! Would recommend to fans of authors like Brynne Weaver or Navessa Allen who are perhaps in search of something a little more grounded.

“What an unhinged book!”
(Paperback)
by Holly Reynolds
What an unhinged book! I thoroughly enjoyed the crazy storyline and the premise had me hooked from the beginning. The murders were creative and well-thought out and there were so many steamy scenes sprinkled throughout as well. A fun, yet dark read - highly recommend this one!

“Revenge”
(Paperback)
by ReadAlongWithSue
This amazingly captivating book that captivated me from the first page is based on an event that happened over 20 years ago, in Canada. It’s based around a hockey team but not for the hockey aspect . It’s about a tragedy that happened which never met justice. Alyssa who is Katie’s best friend is a problem solver and when she hears of what happened to her best friend, Katie, she schemes an idea to get revenge for her z Katie. The trouble is Katie gets involved with Mark who is on the same team and Mark and her hit it off in more ways than one. …. Mark and Alyssa’s relationship is very spicy. There are ztriggers in here so take heed of them before reading, It’s definitely an engaging book that pulls you in and didn’t release me until the last page.
