Reviews: Killer Move (8)
“Another cracking thriller from MMS.”
(Hardback)
I've been a fan of this author since his 'sci-fi' days and this book is no disappointment. His writing style is absolutely unique and balances emotional heft with horrific overtones (sometimes more to the fore than others) and creepy undertones but is very modern and cracks along at a great pace. This isn't as mighty as 'The Straw Men' which is superb, but if you want to read something engrossing, entertaining and thought-provoking, all at the same time, you won't get much better than this.
“Deliciously scary”
(Hardback)
Bill Moore is just an average guy trying to to the best he can to get ahead. His five year plan has slipped a bit more like year six already so he needs to step up to mix it with the movers and shakers. His life is about to change radically and forever the day a card printed with one word "modified" turns up. From here the pace is fast and furious. What is the relationship between an ex con jailed for a crime he didn't commit and a man kidnapped and tortured and what to they have to do with Bill? There are so many twists and turns that the reader is left guessing and the end is a complete surprise.
Would our own lives be as easy to disrupt? The reader is left in no doubt. Fans of Physiological thrillers and conspiracy theorists will not be disappointed with this tale. A very easy delicious read for those who like something a bit different.
“Enjoyed this read a great deal!”
(Hardback)
This book started a little slowly, then the pace increased steadily, the story twisted and turned to its' surprising end. The charcter of Bill Moore was interesting, beginning as vain and egotistical, then in a bid to survive has to "modify" his behaviour. A great read, looking forward to more by this author.
“More twists than a tornado”
(Hardback)
A man is released from prison for a murder he didn't commit.
Another is kidnapped and tortured and yet another has his life "modified" in small ways at first, but these keep getting more and more serious ..... and dangerous. This is a novel with twists and stings throughout that had me riveted, and the final twist was most unexpected. Already looking forward to the author's next offering.
