Reviews: KILLER T (13)
“Review by Natalya”

My daughter's review, thank you for the early review copy.
Romantic, tragic, exciting and terrifyingly believable.
After reading the Cherub series for years this book had high expectations to meet and I'm relieved to say it not only reached them but also surpassed them.
Killer T contains all the best aspects of every genre: romance, tragedy and adventure and served as an amazing days read. The novel addresses very topical issues, such as gene alterations and modifications, and shows the disastrous affects they can cause. The obvious issues the book highlights are those medically; Killer T destroyed entire countries, killed families and murdered the once happy childhood a kid could have. However, the story also hints towards the socially and mentally damaging affects of gene modifications. One of the popular modifications mentioned was the athletic build and showed how many teenage boys felt forced to partake in the therapy to avoid issues like bullying. The need to become perfect or 'designer' is topical and an issue which affects young people in real life. Muchamore's ability to include such important and common issues in such a fast paced and exciting novel highlights his abilities as an author and I look forward to more of his stand-alone novels.
“Thought Provoking”

I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Not only does it give you a thrilling story line but it leaves you constantly thinking about the possibilities of the world. I remember being in science lessons learning about gene-editing and DNA and why it thought of badly and this book gives a well rounded look at all the possibilities that could happen because of the advancements. It is amazing to think of a world where people can get a permanent tan or extra muscle through a bit of scientific work and it almost seems idyllic. Then you hear about the viruses that can be cause and the billions of people dying and it leaves you wondering which world is better. It's crazy that you could even think of that world being better but somehow the book leaves you wanting to be there. I often struggled to tell what was truth or fake. We are so close to a world where that is all possible and though technological advancements are amazing in some cases, it's good to think and discuss the possible negative side affects. Genuinely in awe over this book. I have found myself talking about it so much and I think I will do forever more. Truly thought provoking.
“Lived Up To The Hype!”
(Hardback)
I can't begin to explain just how much I adored this book! In my review of the extract, I stated that I felt this was going to be an incredible book and I was definitely not disappointed!
What I most enjoyed about this book is that you get to see an entire era of these two very lovable characters in a world where everything seems to be falling apart around them. We, as readers, experience about 15 years of Harry and Charlie's life in which we see not only them grow and mature through tough situations and decisions but also there relationship.
The emotional side of things felt real and raw. It wasn't all a 'glass half full' approach but it wasn't all a 'glass half empty' approach either. This book perfectly demonstrated a realistic depiction of what it means to be alive.
“Really good”

I was unexpectedly drawn in to this. I didn't know what I would make of this type of read and as I read more I just wanted to keep reading. It was different and I liked that, and it was unpredictable.
I like how much time this novel spans and what we get to see changing, in the world as well as in relationships. I like both characters of Harry and Charlie and their point of views. Even if they're young they go through a lot of hardships, both alone and together.
It's also partly sad, we lose a lot of people but everyone keeps on fighting and being strong.
I'll be sure to check out the other books by this author in the future.
Thanks to ReadersFirst for providing me with this.

Gripping story set in dystopian future
This book slightly edges away from Muchamore’s style through The Cherub and Henderson boys series’ but is just as captivating. Feel as if you personally know the characters and see their growths and downfalls throughout the decade.
To start off with this thrilling read is set in a timeline that could be directly comparable of that of the current day, throughout the book time slowly passes and eventually covers a timespan of over ten years, showing just how close a dystopian future full of crime and genetically engineered “Zombies” is.
Truly a must-read for anyone with an interest in the sciences or genetic engineering as the book delves deep into the blurred line between ethics & morals and the ever growing power of money.
