Reviews: King Lear (2)

This is in my opinion the best educational version of King Lear. It aided my own college studies.
An ageing father looks to share out his fortunes in an effort to retire and enjoy his spoils with family. He misjudges his daughters and for this he pays greatly and keeps paying for as long as he does not learn from his mistakes.
This is one of my favourites for the lead character King Lear is an incredible character. I think everyone can empathise and see parts of themselves in him in some aspect. A character for whom you will feel a strange mixture of pity and anger, as he wanders like a mad man, full of self-pity to the very end.
Great use of language from Shakespeare.
