Reviews: Level: Apocalypse (1)
“Darker but still awesome!”
(Paperback)
This is aptly named Apocalypse! When you go into the book with a bunch of fighting to get to Vaan the God King and kill him to start the black sun and end of the world again, you know it is going to get dark. It is non stop action with Nick, Lesya, Violet, Batal and the awesome introduction of Cat working to both save Yensere and destroy it to get time moving again and also find out exactly what happens when the black sun appears in the sky and it totally sucked me in! The tenseness of it all is also for the real world with Simon counting down to see what appears in the mysterious wormhole and if it will continue to appear above other worlds and what will happen to them.
I really liked Sorrow's story which was both heartbreaking and also provided more clues to who Vaan was and how he might be defeated. The relationship Nick has with Sorrow really brings heart to the story though the battles were also exciting with the might of magic from the demons and harbingers on full display, sadly to the destruction of more than just the enemy. This is the book of showdowns and the end of the current Yensere though I really want to see what is going to happen after all the fighting and new characters of great power that are introduced or set free. There is much mystery still for Yensere and I am looking forward to what path David Dalglish will set for Nick and the others (hopefully it is not the end of the human race both on Yensere and the universe at large!)
I am glad I got the chance to read this book and series and I highly recommend it! Great books and I need to know what happens next!
