Lore is a young adult standalone novel that is based on Greek mythology, the author has managed to bring the famous Greek myths and gods into the modern day world in a magical way. I loved getting to know Lore through this book, in the first half of the book there is a mystery element to Lores childhood and past prior to the events in the book and I loved unravelling those mysteries and learning more about her past the further I got into the book. Some tropes that I found in this book include: childhood friends to lovers, betrayal, power struggles, and secret societies. In a few words I would describe Lore as a modern urban fantasy hunger games themed book.

Yet again, Bracken has invented a fascinating world. One foot in the ancient myths and another in today's bustling new york city. The characters have such detail and indepth conflict which can be quite rare. Personally, I loved Athena's mortal persona and character. Bracken made her seem sadistic, sarcastic and serene all at once. In her mortal body she is awkward but yet so elegant and cunning at the same time. Even the 'side' characters had so much depth, it was hard to put the book down. Anyone who is familiar with Greek Mythology will adore this story (you don't have to know a lot about the myths either). A 10/10 from me - the ending was everything I wanted.

I enjoyed every word, every paragraph, every page of this book. This has quickly become my most talked about 5 star read.

Absolutely breathtaking. Bracken delivered a marvelous tale of passion, action, loyalty, defeat, and victory. I am in complete awe of her writing style, the character development, the mostly accurate portrayal of Greek Mythology, and the plot line. Each line was highly quotable, each sentence of dialogue was either distressing or heartwarming, and this story is a spectacle. I won’t give anything away, but I can genuinely say that this will be one of the best books of the year, and we’re only in January! Bracken is spectacular. This book is beyond amazing.
