Reviews: Margot's Secrets (2)
“Compulsive”
(Paperback)
by Roberto
The Guardian trade reviewer says: "An intriguing psychological thriller, set in the exotic and atmospheric city of Barcelona. A slick, compulsive, risque narrative, rich with cultural and historical references." This book lives up to the early critical reactions it has had like this one. Published by a small publishing house with a good commercial reputation, Don Boyd has transferred his film director's sensibilities very skilfully. Margot is a fascinating complex American woman trying to deal with her deepest and darkest desires. The psychological tensions are matched by what is essentially a thriller about a serial killer set in Barcelona. I couldn't put it down!

I am a big fan of Don Boyd's films and now of his writing too. I couldn't put this book down! I was gripped by the mystery, thrilled by the darkness and aroused by the eroticism. Don Boyd's beautiful depiction of Barcelona does that wonderful city justice, and his narrative kept me truly immersed within the book. It was as if I was watching one of his films that I am so fond of. I would wholeheartedly recomment this book to everyone.
