It's another wonderful book from this writer, concentrating on the bloom of womens golf amongst the enfranchisement of ladies in UK and American society. After 100 or so years it's sometimes hard to see how difficult it was for lady golfers to gain traction with a golfing audience and this demonstrates rather well the excitement felt in the golfing world to find these exceptional golfers in their midst. The testemonies of some of the greatest golfers and writers of the time are firm evidence of the qualities that they showed, and confirmed the advance of both women golfers and their societal abilities at the time. Another brilliant book form Stephen Proctor and again, his love of the game shines throughout.
